Are you retiring, transferring or resigning?
As you know, when leaving your school, you leave your iPad and laptop at the school.  There are a few housekeeping issues you need to take care of on both the iPad and Mac Laptop before turning them back to your principal.

iPad, Apple TV, VGA ro HDMI Converter (aka iPad Kit)

These items teachers are part of the iPad kit that will need to be turned in.
1. iPad, power adapter, USB cable, cover
2. Apple TV, power cord, remote
3. VGA to HDMI converter, HDMI cable

iPad: Reset to factory settings*

*If you wish recover your iPad data in the future, you need to have an iCloud or iTunes up-to-date backup. If you do not wish to recover your iPad data in the future, you may simply erase all content and settings before turning in your iPad.

  1. Open the Settings app
  2. Tap General
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Reset
  4. Tap on Erase All Content and Settings
  5. Tap on Erase iPad
  6. Confirm
  7. Enter your Passcode

  1. Open iTunes
  2. From the menu, Account->SignOut.

  1. Open System Preferences
  2. Click on iCloud->SignOut.

google docs quick createNow a quick, easy way to create new Google documents by clicking on an extension in your Chrome browser bar.

Add the Google Docs Quick Create extension to your Chrome browser bar.  When you want to create a new Google Doc, just click on the Google Docs Quick Create icon (it is the Google Drive icon) and click on a new doc, sheet, presentations, forms, or drawing.

Speech-recognitionSpeech Recognition is a Google Docs Add-on you can now use in Google Docs.

How to get this Add-on

  • Open a Google Doc.
  • Chose Add-ons-->Get new add-ons.
  • Search for Speech Recognition.
  • Add it

How to use the Add-on

  • Begin by choosing your language and region.
  • Then click Start and begin speaking.
  • Your voice will be recognized and entered as text.

We have tried it in 3 different languages and it worked well.  One thing we have learned is to enunciate a bit more clearly.
