Cleaning a Chromebook

When cleaning Chromebook/Laptops there are a few important things to remember.

NEVER spray anything on your Chromebook/laptop.  This will short out your keyboards and cause all sorts of issues.  If you do need to clean them here are a few considerations to follow:

You will need a Microfiber cloth and a disinfectant. (You can use the disinfectant cleaner your custodian has).
  • Spray onto the Microfiber cloth, DO NOT GET IT TOO WET.
  • Power down the Chromebook/Laptop by holding the power button for 10 seconds.
  • Wipe down keyboard then dry it off with a dry microfiber cloth.
If you want to clean the screen, you do the same steps but a different cleaner.
  • Use a Microfiber cloth, screen cleaner or the Blue Cleaner from your custodian.
Disinfectant wipes are a little harder to use but if you need to, wring them out as good as you can.  There should be no dripping liquid at all.  Power off your Chromebook/laptop. Then wipe down.  Dry off with microfiber cloth before you turn it back on.
Do not use Disinfectant or wipes on the Screen.  This could damage the Chromebook/Laptop.
