Digital Citizenship

The days of once-a-year internet safety assemblies are over. To adequately prepare our students to live and succeed in our modern world, we need to help them develop Digital Citizenship skills that they use every day.

Digital Citizenship is not just another thing, but rather is already built into the Utah state core standards in a variety of content areas:

ISTE also has a set of standards specifically for digital citizenship for students.

The Digital Teaching and Learning team is excited to share some resources with you to celebrate six areas of Digital Citizenship mastery.

  • Positive Online Interactions
  • Using Technology Responsibly
  • Protecting Private Information
  • Using Reliable Sources
  • Passwords that Protect
  • Using Digital Tools for Good

DTL has created this page of resources to help your teachers and students demonstrate good digital citizenship skills. Below, you’ll find a level-specific list of short lessons and learning activities that teachers can use each day as part of Digital Citizenship Week.
