Instructional Coaching Endorsement

In partnership with the Utah State Board of Education (USBE), Jordan School District offers an Instructional Coaching Endorsement program designed for licensed JSD educators who are aspiring to transition into leadership, specialist, or coaching roles.

📅 Cohort Status & Application

  • Current Status: The current cohort is underway.

  • Next Cohort Launch: Applications will open in Spring 2027, with coursework beginning in Fall 2027.

Required Coursework

To earn the endorsement, participants must complete three courses (9 total credits) focused on mastering coaching competencies:

1. Foundations of Instructional Coaching:3 Credits.

Prepares educators with the foundational skill set to effectively coach fellow educators, refine teaching practices, and improve student learning outcomes.

2. Adult Learning Theory:3 Credits.

A graduate-level course focused on engaging educators using research-based adult learning principles. Participants learn to design effective professional learning and build strong, collaborative coaching relationships.

3. Instructional Design and Assessment:3 Credits.

A graduate-level, largely asynchronous course that ensures future coaches can design high-impact instruction and assessments using research-based strategies aligned to standards-based objectives.
